Kinesiology Laboratory Ki.ne.si.ol.o.gy\kuh-nee-see-`al-uh-jee\ comes from the Greek word meaning "to move." Kinesiology is typically defined as the science or study of human movement related to sports, dance, and exercise.
At the College of St. Scholastica, students use the Kinesiology Laboratory for a variety of instructional and hands-on experiences (including a place to exercise and workout). Exercise physiology majors in other courses also use the laboratory to address different considerations (including psychophysiology of stress, manual muscle testing, functional anatomy, and biomechanics).
