Between 20-26% of the workforce has nonstandard schedules. This means that they typically work when they would otherwise be asleep, work very long hours, rotate to a new shift just when they are beginning to adjust, and all this while they are expected to perform at high levels and perhaps with high risk activities. This webpage is a resource for information and links on shiftwork history, physiology, psychology, performance, scheduling, and research. [UNDER CONSTRUCTION]Circadian Rhythm and Physiology
