Management Department
The College of St. Scholastica
Duluth, MN
If you're not yet sure exactly what field of management to enter, this is the place to be. You're in good company--in a survey of more than 300 college freshmen who declared a major in some discipline, over 70% were uncertain of their decision! It's important to know that interest in an academic major and occupational field is something that gradually unfolds rather than appears fully developed.

In addition, over a person's working life, you may have as many as five different occupations and as many as ten different employers. This is the beginning of a long and exciting journey for you!

This webpage is designed to help you explore potential careers in management. The links provided will help you assess your personal style, interests, and occupational themes that are related to satisfaction in a field of study. Even if you have taken interest testing in recent years, or if that testing was inconclusive, you may discover more about yourself with these assessments.

After you have taken a particular inventory about yourself, write down or print off the results. Then, come back to this page and check the management and related fields that may be a good match for you. If you have any questions, you can e-mail our management faculty for expert information and discussion on that field.
