Merger and Acquisition mania appears alive and well in the world. A 1999 study reports that over  9,000 mergers valued at $1.4 trillion occurred that year. Unfortunately, at many as 75% of domestic deals fail to achieve their goals. In spite of these failures, the competitive advantage to be gained continues to attract companies to these strategies.
